Did Jesus become sick ?

Did Jesus become sick ?

My experience how Satan make us sick is this.

Imagine the following scenario: Pete comes to visit - Pete, my friend has the sniffles.
Tomorrow morning I wake up. What happens? I have a sniffle, running nose.

In that split second I have a choice. I can say: 'Pete has shared his bugs with me.' By doing this I delegate my healing authority to demonic influence, and the sickness has to run it's coarse, it will take 2 weeks for my body to form the antibodies against the virus.

The other option I have is to say: 'In Jesus name, I don't accept any sickness on me. I am healed by the blood of Jesus. I speak death into any bug or virus or attack on my body. I send any demonic spirit to "waterless and dry places". I don't accept any sickness or symptoms of sickness on my body. In Jesus name.'
Guess what? 5 minutes later the symptoms are gone.

Did Jesus ever got sickness symptoms - I think so look at Hebrews 4:15  'For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin.'

What did Jesus do? He probably did what we should do - just did not accept Satan's sickness on Him. He took up His God given authority believed God's word and did not yield to Satan's attack.

It is much much easier to resist sickness symptoms that Satan offers than getting your body healed with the power of God once you are sick. This is just my opinion.

Did Jesus ever inflict sickness on anyone ?

Some people believe God is schizophrenic or have a dual personality. Inflicting sickness on people to get their attention, to teach them something, to improve their character. Did Jesus (The image of the invisible God, Col 1:15) ever inflict sickness or place any curse on His enemies. Did he ever place a sickness on the rich young man who did not want to follow him? Did he place sickness or curses on the pharisees who tried to trick Him and kill him? Did the One who said - Bless those that curse you. Ever curse anyone with sickness, disease, suffering, difficulty? Next time you blame God for any sickness. Think again.

Is it easier to be healed as a Christian

Yes, I believe so. Not being a christian won't stop God doing a mirable for you, but in God as a Christian it is easier to walk in the healing God has for you. It is easier to obey God when you have faith. Many time miracles happen because people obeyed Jesus. 'Go fill the containers with water' - BOOM! water into wine. 'Go back to your house' BOOM! someone is healed.  'Get up take your bed and walk' BOOM! Someone is healed again.

As a christian it is easier to hear God's voice in the first place

Also God restored our authority over the evil spirits which makes us sick, in Christ we have authority to drive out demons and heal the sick (ourselves included) (Mark 16:17 &18)

Storming the castle

As non-christians or uninformed believers. We get the idea that our healing is something to aspire to, to obtain. It is like our healing is in a castle on a hill we are way down in the valley - we have to fight our way up the hill over the walls to get a climps of the healing God has for us.

The bible does not say this, the bible says that CHRIST is our Cornerstone, that everything He obtained through His sacrifice for us is IN Him, everything - has been placed in that Cornerstone. Healing, deliverance, holyness blessing. As christians we are IN Him (Eph 1:4). In Him we ALREADY ARE HEALED

We don't have to 'storm the castle'  No, We are IN the castle - the 'High Tower' (Psalm 18:2). We don't have to STRIVE to get healed, we just have to get rid of the sickness invaders that are illegally transgressing and taking places that God has left for us to clear.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Who is responsible for healing?

In Mark 16:17 it says:
"These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

The bible says there is things God will do FOR us and we have to ask Him for it. There other thing which God says WE must do. He has give us the authority and the power to do it. Driving out demon, laying our hands on the sick - healing people. That is OUR job. Are you doing what God asked you to do?

What about Job?

Dealing with Job will probably take a whole book on it's own. Here is a few things to ponder about the story of Job
Satan could not attack Job because he was righteous - if he was a sinner it might be a completely different story.
Satan had to ask permisson from God. God did not want to test or inflict pain on Job but God relented bit by bit - althou God was the One who brought the subject of Job up in heaven.
Job was living PRE Moses and PRE Christ. He did not benefit from the limits God has set (so-to-speak) on Himself. Where under the the law of Moses there was consequences for sin and consequenses for righteous living. After Christ OUR lives are HIDDEN in Christ so our lifes should be a reflection what Christ bought for us.
The book of Job shows Satan's character - the intense desire to destroy the righteous children of God.
In the end God intercedes and restore to Job twice as much has he had.

In summary:
The whole point of the book of Job is God can do what HE wants. He can make us sick and destroy us or He can give us healing. Luckily for us  - we don't have to worry about that anymore - God chose to give us healing ONCE and FOR ALL in Christ. SET in STONE.

The WORD

In Psalm 138:2 it says: 'for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.' It means God's word is more important than His NAME ! WOW! Jesus is the Word made flesh! God exalts His Word above his name. So if God says He will not lie - if he lies he breaks his word. He will NEVER go againt His WORD.
In Ecclesiastes 3:14 the bible says: I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

This means you can not ADD or take AWAY any things that God does. If God did not heal you in Christ and provided for you healing you can NOT get healed. If God has provided for you healing - you SHOULD get healed.

Why don't we get healed

The simple answer is:

  1. Our faith is weak
  2. We don't know the WORD of God
  3. We don't walk with God and sit at HIS feet.
  4. Satan is stubborn, a deceiver, a legalist, an opportunist and it is a BATTLE sometimes to take from 'the strongman' what legally belongs to us.
